Cary Burch

Few advisors have sat on both sides of the table the way Cary Burch has. For more than 30 years, he has operated at the intersection of technology, capital, and real-world infrastructure, working as an investor, as an executive, and as the person responsible for making all three work together.

Cary has held multiple C-level roles across public companies, including CEO, and served as Global Chief Innovation Officer at Thomson Reuters, where he drove enterprise-scale innovation across a 60,000-person global organization.

Over his career, he has worked alongside firms such as Insight Partners, LLR Partners, Warburg Pincus, and The Riverside Company, helping support the creation and scaling of technology, infrastructure, and data-driven platforms.

Today, as Founding Managing Partner of Bryce Catalyst, Cary backs operators building companies with less than $10 million in revenue, with a focus on AI, data infrastructure, and advanced computing. His work centers on a single question: How do you align capital, technology, and infrastructure to bring complex systems to life?

That question is at the heart of what Black Star Syndicate exists to explore. As a Strategic Advisor, Cary brings relationships, pattern recognition, and operational credibility to help Black Star shape strategy, partnerships, and platforms for its members.

Cary holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and has completed executive studies at Oxford University and Harvard.
